Microblading, also known as eyebrow embroidery, eyebrow feathering, is a form of semi-permanent makeup which is implemented using a handheld tool comprised of between 6-18 micro needles in the shape of a blade, hence the name microblade/nanoblade. Microblading is a natural look that adds hair strokes and volume to your brows but give that realistic, your brows but better look.
A combination of microblading and powder brows (shading). There are microblading hair-like strokes from the beginning to the middle of the brow to give the brow a natural look. It then transitions to a powdered effect from the body and tail to give the brow more fullness and density.
A soft powdered look, with darker tail and gradient lighter shading towards the front of the brow. For clients looking to have a very defined shape that looks like a brow tint after it's fully healed.

Here’s a quick run-down of a typical service provided by an official PhiBrows & SPMU artist. First a patch test will need to be done on the skin at least 24-48 hours before the procedure. Your patch test kit will be sent to your home address before the treatment. Before the appointment begins, the artist will provide a quick consultation to discuss the expectations and results of the treatment. The artist then draws on the eyebrow shape according to the golden ratio measuring tool. Brows are measured perfectly to complement your unique face shape and size. Next, the artist chooses the perfect colour to match your brow hair and skin tone. Initial strokes/first pass of shading are placed, and then anaesthetic gel is applied to reduce discomfort. After, a pigment layer is left to absorb into the skin. Once that’s finished, the artist cleans the area thoroughly. After the procedure, you will be given a Post-treatment pack to take home, including a protective balm and instructions on how to care for your newly tattooed brows. You must return for a Top-up appointment 4-8 weeks after the initial session so the brows can be perfected.
1. On the first day after the treatment, a client must dab the area every hour until the bedtime, using a clean dry tissue.
2. After the last dab before bed, a very thin layer of the aftercare cream needs to be applied to the brows. Do not be generous with the cream as you only need a tiny amount (rice grain size to cover both brows).
3. The next day for the following 4 days, dab the cream on the brows twice a day (morning and evening). Stop using the cream after this period and allow them to dry heal from now on.
You do not need to wash the brow area for the duration of the 10 days unless they get dirty, oily or sweaty. In such case, use a very mild soap to cleanse the brows and rinse with a lukewarm water. Always pat dry, do not rub your brow area, especially against the hair flow! Do not drench the brow in the water too as it will potentially remove the pigment from your brows.
IMPORTANT DO NOT's!
-Do not get the brows wet at all for at least 10 days. If the area does get wet, pat dry with a clean tissue very gently
-Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for the 10 days
-Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days. Make sure you wash your hair with your head tilted backwards to stop water running down your face
-Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
-Avoid swimming, hot tubs, saunas for the first 10 days
-Avoid makeup on the area for 10 days (or until the scab falls off)
-No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
-No sun/sunbed on pigmented area whilst healing. Use SPF50 on brows once fully healed if exposed (this is crucial for the longevity as UV rays tend to lighten or change the shade to unflattering grey/blue tone)
- Someone that wants the convenience of not having to fill in their brows with makeup
- Someone that wants help with shaping and wants their shaping to stay perfected
- Someone who likes that defined and shaped look to their brows or fluffier natural laminated look, and they cannot achieve it with their natural brows
- Someone with sparse brows
- Someone with areas of the brows that will not grow back due to alopecia or damaged folicles
- Anyone active who likes swimming, hiking, fitness etc. and needs the convenience of having their brows done fand not wiping off throughout the day
-Busy mums, business owners, students, nurses etc. that want to save the time to put makeup on in the morning.
Although this step is quite frightening to most clients as the drawn shape looks darker and bigger than their natural brow shape, we want to make sure you are able to get a good idea of what it will look like. We will measure and map out your eyebrows, and check in with you before proceeding. If you would like changes made before we start, we are happy to do it! In the end it will be you wearing the eyebrows day to day, so your input and happiness are the most important thing!
Some things recommended for your appointment;
- Make sure you've had something to eat before your treatment. You will be laying down 1-2 hours so it's important you are comfortable.
- You may want to bring your headphones, if you would like to listen to music during your procedure. Although, there will be an ambience music played in the background to make you more relaxed.
- You may need some snacks, in case you feel hungry and want a 5 minute break.
- You may want to bring earplugs, if you would like to sleep/rest. Yes, most clients fall asleep.
- Please bring a Sweater/Jacket in case you feel cold. Air conditioner in the procedure room must stay on.
- Please bring your Foundation/Makeup, in case you want to touch up your makeup for the “after” pictures. During the procedure, parts of your foundation around the brows and forehead will be removed. I would also recommend you to put makeup on before your appointment, if you would like to be picture perfect for the “before” and “after” photos.
-You may be asked for a photo ID.
Yes, you do need to prep before your appointment. Please follow the PRE-CARE PREPARATION steps above. The pre-care is there for the best and smoothest results. By not following directions, you are risking blotchy healed brows, scarring, poor ink intake, bleeding, …etc .
Please note, no other person may enter the procedure room. It will only be you and the artist.
It takes approximately 5-14 days for the top layer of your brows to heal. It takes about a month for the colour to fully set in. So final results will be seen at 4 weeks! The process and ink used is meant to look very dark initially. The results fade into a much softer finish. Fading is about 30-50%. During the healing process it's normal for newly tattooed eyebrows to form a scab, crack and peel. Your skin is renewing itself, a process of healing the area. A reminder! Please do not try to peel off any of the scabs. Allow the brows, to heal themselves to prevent a blotchy and uneven outcome.
